AI-based virtual production company Vive Studios announced on the 26th that it has signed a strategic partnership with Daeseung Intercom to launch a new photo booth business that integrates experiential AI content.
Daeseung Intercom, founded in 1991, is a leading Korean company specializing in sticker photo booths. It pioneered the market in the late 1990s as a first-generation player in the sticker booth and arcade game industries. With solid technological capabilities and franchise management expertise, Daeseung Intercom has established itself in domestic and global markets, including Japan and China, with exclusive supply agreements in over 20 countries. In 2022, the company launched its franchise photo booth brand “Eoljjang Studio Photo Shop,” which now operates in over 160 locations across Korea, solidifying its position as a major player in the photo booth market.
Under this partnership, Vive Studios will provide the AI content solution, while Daeseung Intercom will handle the production of dedicated photo booth hardware and franchise operations. Vive Studios will offer new photo booth content solutions based on its AI technologies and VFX production know-how developed through its in-house R&D center. Daeseung Intercom will be responsible for producing and managing AI-optimized photo booth products, leveraging its franchise management experience and technical strengths.
Starting this year, the new AI photo booths—based on Vive Studios’ experiential AI solution “PLAY ON”—will be gradually installed in Eoljjang Studio Photo Shop branches nationwide. PLAY ON allows users to generate personalized, real-time stories using AI technology in physical locations. This rollout marks Vive Studios’ full-fledged entry into the domestic photo booth market and also sets the stage for overseas expansion.
Lee Hoo-jung, Executive Director of Vive Studios' Solutions Division, stated, “While demand for AI content is exploding online, there are still few examples of this technology being used in offline environments where people can enjoy it together. Through this partnership, we aim to allow more people to experience AI-powered content in an interactive way.”
Kim Kyung-soo, Director of E&A Business Division at Daeseung Intercom, added, “We’ve already verified the business potential through pilot operations in our directly managed stores since the end of last year. The introduction of AI content solutions, which did not previously exist in the photo booth market, gives us strong confidence that we can differentiate ourselves globally. We expect our future products to deliver new and exciting experiences to customers.”
