AI-based virtual production company Vive Studios announced on the 3rd that it has developed interactive AR content for the media wall at Baegun Plaza in Nam-gu, Gwangju.
The AR interactive content, installed on the large media wall of the Blue Road Bridge in Baegun Plaza, allows visitors to participate and interact directly. Themed "A Place to Meet the Unfamiliar – Nam-gu Playground," the content includes six segments ▲ Nam-gu Snapshot ▲ Angel in My Heart ▲ Blue Road Band ▲ Crew BXJ▲ Baegun Tiger's Walk▲ Crunchy-Crunchy Baegun Plaza
"Nam-gu Snapshot" is a photo booth experience using iconic Nam-gu symbols as photo frames. "Angel in My Heart" offers cheerful interaction with an angel character to uplift passersby on the bridge. "Blue Road Band" features a virtual busking performance with actor Kim Young-ho. "Crew BXJ" lets users dance alongside Vive Studios' virtual human character "Zilju."
In "Baegun Tiger’s Walk," visitors engage with ‘Baegun Tiger,’ a symbolic local character, while "Crunchy-Crunchy Baegun Plaza" showcases a pixel-art reinterpretation of Blue Road Park for visitors to enjoy.
These experiences use AR technology to include real participants in the media content. As people walk by, cameras capture their presence and display them interacting within the media wall in real-time, offering a more immersive digital experience rather than just passive viewing.
The project is part of a broader initiative to establish Baegun Plaza as a hub of digital culture. The content is designed to resonate across age groups and promote cultural engagement, tourism, and local economic revitalization.
