On the 28th, Vive Studios announced that its experiential AI photo booth solution ‘PLAY ON’ has been newly installed at the K-Way House Hannam pop-up store and at Eoljjang’s Namsan Tower location.
PLAY ON is a photo booth-style solution that uses AI technology to transform users into characters or allow them to experience various transformations. It offers several photo modes including ‘Play Toon’, which converts the user’s image into a cartoon style, and ‘AI Profile’, which allows users to take profile pictures with different genders and occupations.
K-Way House Hannam is a pop-up store opened by the French premium lifestyle brand K-Way in Hannam-dong, Yongsan, Seoul. It is K-Way’s first standalone store in Korea, serving as both a brand showroom and a cultural experience space.
On June 22, K-Way House Hannam hosted its grand opening event attended by K-pop idols such as Shownu from Monsta X, Rei from IVE, and dance crew HOOK, marking the official start of the pop-up. The store will operate daily from 11 AM to 8 PM until January of next year.
At this new location, PLAY ON has been customized to match the K-Way brand, allowing users to wear K-Way clothing and create four-frame webtoons using background themes inspired by the brand’s color palette and concept.
Additionally, a feature that enables background compositing and the insertion of speech bubbles has been added to devices installed at brand stores. This allows users to craft simple and fun webtoon stories which they can share on social media.
Furthermore, PLAY ON has been newly launched at Eoljjang’s Namsan Tower location. Vive Studios plans to sequentially install chroma key backgrounds at other existing locations such as Miso Photo, Eoljjang Hongdae, Seongsu Megabox, and MetaGround, with various new functions and services to be rolled out.
Bae Soo-yong, Head of Solution Planning at Vive Studios, stated, “Thanks to the growing interest in PLAY ON, we’ve been able to expand into more locations. With the addition of the webtoon feature, we will continue to provide convenient and enjoyable experiences for our users through ongoing updates.”
