AI-based virtual production company Vive Studios (CEO Kim Se-gyu) announced on the 3rd that it has rolled out a major update to its interactive AI photo solution, ‘PLAY ON’, adding a variety of new features.
PLAY ON is a photo booth-style solution that uses AI technology to transform users into various characters or different appearances. It offers several shooting modes, such as ‘Play Toon’, which converts users into cartoon-style illustrations, and ‘AI Profile’, which allows users to take profile photos in different genders and professions.
Vive Studios has recently expanded PLAY ON installations to new locations including the ‘K-Way House Hannam’ pop-up store and ‘Eoljjang’ Namsan Tower branch, prompting a feature update in tandem.
The previous plain-color background shooting system has been upgraded to support customizable backgrounds and speech bubble overlays, enhancing the storytelling and content creation experience. Additionally, a device management feature has been added, allowing operators to customize various shooting elements to suit the booth’s concept.
A new feature that turns captured photos into webtoons using AI has also been introduced. Within just one minute, users can transform their photos into a four-frame webtoon. Vive Studios collaborated with renowned webtoon artists to reflect their unique art styles in the webtoons, and four new styles have been released.
Bae Soo-yong, Head of the PLAY ON Planning Division at Vive Studios, stated, “We’re excited to bring this update with various new features to our customers,” and added, “We will continue to provide regular updates so that users of PLAY ON can enjoy a more convenient and enjoyable experience.”
