Vive Studios announced on the 6th that it participated in I/ITSEC 2024, the world’s largest military simulation and equipment exhibition.
Hosted by the National Training and Simulation Association (NTSA), I/ITSEC is a global event where companies in military, defense, education, and training simulation share their latest military training systems and defense technologies. This year’s event is being held from December 2 in Orlando, Florida, USA.
At the KAI (Korea Aerospace Industries) booth, Vive Studios showcased a prototype of the FA-50M VCBT (Virtual Computer-Based Training) maintenance training solution, jointly developed with KAI.
This VR-based training simulation allows users to interactively perform aircraft maintenance using high-quality real-time 3D graphics, replicating a real-world environment. The aircraft and engineering data are rendered with ultra-high-resolution textures and billions of polygons. The platform also includes an intuitive authoring tool, enabling users to easily create and update training scenarios as needed.
Since July, Vive Studios has been collaborating with KAI to develop a VR content authoring tool and training simulation platform using Unreal Engine. In October, the company presented this project at Unreal Fest 2024.
Vive Studios has been officially awarded the full-scale development project of the FA-50M VCBT maintenance training system by KAI following successful PoC verification. According to the company, this is the first case in Asia to implement a VR-based maintenance training program.
With its participation in I/ITSEC, Vive Studios plans to further expand its opportunities by securing contracts for training programs with global defense and aerospace companies.
CEO Kim Se-kyu of Vive Studios said, “We are thrilled by the strong interest from exhibition attendees in experiencing our VR content. It’s a great honor to showcase Korean technology at the world’s largest military exhibition.”
