AI-based virtual production company Vive Studios announced on the 6th that it held a signing ceremony for the “SNAPAI AI Photo Studio Joint Project in China” with China’s WEMAO Media Group.
At the ceremony, held in Vive Studios' main conference room, CEO Se-kyu Kim of Vive Studios and CEO Xu Yangbin of WEMAO Media Group signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU).
Through this MOU, Vive Studios plans to work with WEMAO to localize and expand SNAPAI's business in China. This includes operating directly managed stores, launching franchise partnerships, and offering photo booth rental services. They are also preparing to link the photo booth with IP merchandise from Chinese tourist attractions, provide SNAPAI services to Chinese universities, and open pop-up stores in major cities.
SNAPAI is Vive Studios’ AI-powered photo booth brand, which launched its flagship store last month. It features a variety of AI-driven functions, such as “Play Toon,” which transforms photos into cartoon-style images, “Caricature,” which turns users into characters, and “AI Profile,” which creates profile pictures in diverse settings and backgrounds.
WEMAO Media Group specializes in content post-production, marketing, and distribution, and aims to promote SNAPAI in the Chinese market by developing a localized business model.
WEMAO Media Group founder and CEO Xu Yangbin is a renowned film producer and IP content expert, and serves as the chairman of the “TOPU” International Animation Week Organizing Committee. His notable works include City of Life and Death, Kung Fu Panda 2, and How to Train Your Dragon 2.
Se-kyu Kim, CEO of Vive Studios, stated, “The photo booth craze that started in Korea is now spreading to China. We will work closely with WEMAO Media Group to ensure that SNAPAI successfully establishes itself in the Chinese market.”
Vive Studios also plans to provide technical and business-related information, along with video and photo assets, to support SNAPAI’s successful market entry in China.
